John Dorman is a native Texan who grew up in Spring, Texas, and began his practice in West Texas in 2004. He has been board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery since 2006, and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He has performed over 5,700 surgical cases across more than 23 years of practice.

Dr. Dorman earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University, graduating cum laude as a Presidential Scholarship recipient. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1994, earning the Alpha Omega Alpha research scholarship, the Ivan Bruce Memorial Award, and an NIH grant during his second year of medical school.

He completed a general surgery internship in Norfolk, Virginia, followed by a two-year pediatric intensive care fellowship in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and his neurosurgical residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Dr. Dorman has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Midland Memorial Hospital. He has published peer-reviewed scientific articles and holds multiple patents for surgical devices. He is also the founder of Bolt Navigation System / Circinus Medical Technology.

Outside of work, Dr. Dorman enjoys drums, programming, and travel.
